Event Description

Actually Mine aims to empower women, with curly/afro textured hair, on their natural hair journeys. The event will look at practical tips for understanding your hair texture and fully embracing it.

The aim of the event is to leave you feeling motivated and inspired on your hair journey. 

On the evening
The evening will cover a range of themes from the History of Natural Hair, Hair Porosity, Protective Styling, and much more. We will be joined by some amazing speakers, who will share about their own hair journeys, provide haircare tips and their go-to hairstyles.

There will also be games, poetry and plenty of opportunities to mingle and connect. So, why not come and enjoy an exciting evening to celebrate your beautiful crown!

Kosi - Creator of Actually Mine

Kosi uses her platform ljeForward to share her poetry and positivity in the hope of inspiring people on their own journeys to reach their fullest potential.

As part of this, Actually Mine, has been birthed as a way to inspire and empower women on their natural hair journeys and embrace their curly/afro textured hair.

Kosi believes that by embracing our full selves, we will be able to share our stories and experiences. This will help us to learn from one another and thrive on our own journeys forward to make the best possible impact.


Joyce - Hairstylist & Beautician

Joyce is a talented Trainee Hairstylist and Beautician. Despite being new to the industry, Joyce has always been passionate about hair and skincare and she loves any opportunity to learn something new. 

Joyce’s goal is to ensure that whoever sits in her chair is never made to feel that their hair is difficult but rather, know that all hairs have different needs and can be catered to. Above all, Joyce aims for every visit to leave you embracing the truly beautiful individual that you are. 


Chileleko - Founder of NaturalTwentyFourSeven

Chileleko is the Founder of NaturalTwentyFourSeven - The Art of Embracing You. She is passionate about helping individuals focus on the value of who they are holistically, by doing the internal work necessary to be themselves. Empowering others to live authentically, with confidence to embrace their God design.

Her course, "The Ultimate Mindset to Embrace Your Natural Hair" is a comprehensive resource for healing some of the trauma, shame, and discomfort that surrounds natural hair. It also provides holistic knowledge on hair care to aid with your natural hair goals.


Barnabas - Founder of Miracle Mane

Founder of Miracle Mane. A natural, vegan and organic hair care brand that believes all your hair is part of your power and should be treated as such. Birthed in 2022, Barnabas is on a mission to restore health to all natural hair types, one step at a time.


Funmi - Natural Hairstylist 

Funmi is a Natural Hairstylist embracing texture for special occasions, bridal, and creative styling for photoshoots, shows, magazines and more.

Funmi is a Podcast Host for 'if the curls could talk' sharing the hair stories of people from different walks of life and the significant role hair has played in their experiences.

Funmi is also an online protective styles Tutor; teaching braiding, twisting and natural dally styling. She is intentional with embracing curls and texture, spreading awareness that natural hair is worthy of all occasions and being a voice of confidence for those learning their hair.


Lisa Ellis - Model, Presenter & Poet

Lisa Ellis is an accomplished Model, Presenter, Poet and advocate for Natural Hair, dedicated to celebrating and promoting the beauty of Afro Hair in the Fashion and Beauty industries. With a modelling career that includes collaborations with renowned brands such as Vogue, MAC and Mixed Roots, Lisa has become a powerful voice for representation, showcasing the versatility and artistry of Natural Afro hairstyles.

Currently Miss England of Miss Caribbean and Commonwealth 2024, Lisa was also a Top 20 Finalist of Miss England 2024. With British and Jamaican roots, Lisa uses her platform to uplift diverse voices and perspectives. As a speaker, Lisa draws on her personal journey to inspire others to embrace their authentic selves. Her mission is to empower individuals to take pride in their natural beauty, challenging eurocentric beauty standards and redefining what it means to wear one's Natural Crown.
